The Beginner’s Guide on How to Eat Healthy and Stick to It

I really like the blog of James Clear. He writes on a number of topics relating to living our best lives. This includes a number of great articles on nutrition and exercise. If you get a chance, check out all his stuff, but this article on eating right in an age of billion dollar corporations creating food designed to be irresistible is especially excellent and of course aligns with Diet Truth.

The Good Men Project: Intermittent Fasting for Men’s Health

I totally get the science behind tossing calorie counting and adopting Intermittent Fasting and Keto or Low Carb High Fat diets without regard to calories.

But for me, it does not fully work without considering the calories. There is no doubt I radically slowed my metabolism by eating too few calories for a few years. But recent attempts to fix it by eating 2200-2300 per day have just added weight back on that I am now trying to get back off.

I’m still trying to find the secret for me. It has to be some combination of all these theories. But while I do, I’m going to publish the latest thoughts.

I found this to be a pretty good primer on IF, but he sure is hard on the calorie counters!

Diet Truth is on WordPress!

Welcome to our new website! We were up on Blogger for several years but we were unable to update the site frequently. With this new platform I will be publishing cool new stuff every week and I’ll share it from here to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

As you read about my journey that began in 2012, you’ll find I depended heavily on counting calories and the concept of calorie averaging. I do that to this day but I have learned many new things in the past five years and now embrace Intermittent Fasting (IF), Low Carb High Fat (LCHF), and now Ketogenic (Keto) ways of eating.

I’m finding maintenance a constant (but fun) challenge. I am always trying new things to try to stay at a healthy weight, but more importantly (at 59 years old), to stay as healthy as possible.

I’m looking forward to sharing the latest info from the world of nutrition, exercise, cancer prevention, and more.

Be sure to check out some Recipes that help me stay on track while having fun eating.

Thanks for visiting and talk soon! Bill Pratt
